Sportsbar

Live scores in your menu bar — without spoilers.

Sportsbar shows whether your favorite teams are playing right now, but hides scores by default. Tap a game to reveal it; the reveal sticks. Built around the unusual goal of not spoiling games you haven't watched yet.

What it does

01

Follow up to four teams

Pick favorites across 32 leagues — NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, college, international — and only those are polled and surfaced.

02

Spoiler-free by default

The menu bar shows whether your team is currently playing or recently played, but not the score. No accidental glance ruins the game.

03

Tap to reveal

Click a game to show its score. The reveal sticks until the game ages out, so you don't have to keep re-confirming.

04

Smart notifications

Banners at game start (actual first pitch / opening tip / kickoff, not 5 minutes before), at end, and on lead changes — but only for games you've already revealed.

05

Smart polling

Tight cadence when a game is live or about to start, idle when nothing's happening. Idle leagues aren't polled at all.

06

Auto-updates from GitHub

When a new release ships, you'll be prompted to install it the next time the app phones home.

Built with menuet

Sportsbar is open source.

It’s a few hundred lines of Go on top of menuet — the same library you can use to build your own menu‑bar app. Read the source, or start your own.
